The System
DEFENDER Roof Edge Protection is a freestanding system that requires no fixings or drilling and subsequently no repair to the roof membrane, it is suitable for flat or nearly flat roofs. The system satisfies the requirements of BS EN ISO 14122 part 3 Safety of Machinery - Permanent means of access to machinery - stairways, stepladders and guard-rails and this is supported by TUV certification.
DEFENDER Roof Edge Protection operates on a counterbalance principle using curved PVC counterweights as the main component. A galvanised malleable iron foot supports the handrail post, this includes an integral toeplate facility which is a fundamental requirement if there is no perimeter edge upstand.
The DEFENDER Roof Edge Protection system includes our C44 cradle fittings, this is a major cost saver because it allows the handrail tube to be rapidly dropped into place instead of being fed through several fittings as with other systems.
